Product Alerts are displayed at the top of support pages.
A maximum of five alerts may be displayed at one
time. The alert is a pattern used when you want to display an important message to a user.
Why Use This Pattern
The point of the Product alert is to make sure that a message is conveyed. The user will need to take a specific action to dismiss the alert. Alerts indicator appears in the right corner of the tab bar below the page title and displays the current number of alerts. In the case of no alerts, the indicator is not displayed.
What is the SolutionThe Product alerts tray is visible by default but can be
minimized by clicking the close icon in the top
right corner. Individual alerts can be expanded or
collapsed by clicking on the header to reveal more
details. May include links for follow on Call-to-actions or more information instructions.
When to Use This Pattern
To display informative, warning or critical messages to the user.
Do Not Use This Pattern When
The user’s required action is not listed on the same page where the warning message box is displayed. Or, when the user must complete online forms.
