1. View list on the data table for bulk actions available.

2. Hover and highlight each row to view selection.
3. Select one or more check boxes.

Check the boxes to view the actions linked to the selected items displayed accordingly.

Ensure users can navigate to and modify the checkboxes using only the keyboard.

4. Show more actions available in the dropdowns.
5. Column header will not scroll.

Note alternating row background shade.

6. Selected row remains at the top while scrolling.

Why Use This Pattern

Table Bulk Actions allow the user to access a variety of features to manipulate a columns and rows on a grid table. The gripper provides an easy to use feature to manipulate a single row, or multiple rows, within the table.

What is the Solution

To identify and understand the use of the row gripper, by having the availability to move a selected row(s) within the multiple of rows to the top for editing.

Dropdowns offer additional actions. Select row(s) for navigation and modify, then;

  • Select from dropdown tabs to perform additional actions.
  • Select to freeze while scrolling.

When to Use This Pattern

When working with a single or multiple rows within the table.

Do Not Use This Pattern

For setting up, or using the header to scroll.

When a data table grid does need manipulation by the user.
